Automatic disconnection and reconnection: billing that runs itself

How an ISP billing system can handle expiry and reconnection automatically, so customers who pay are back online in seconds without your team doing anything.

For many ISPs, the busiest part of the day is reconnecting customers who just paid. A billing system connected to your network can do it for you.

What should happen by itself

  1. Before expiry, the customer gets an SMS reminder with a payment link.
  2. When the plan ends, the login is handled by RADIUS. No one touches the router.
  3. The customer, still on your network, sees a payment page and pays with M-Pesa.
  4. The payment is matched, the plan renews, and they are back online in seconds.
  5. A receipt goes out by SMS.

Why it matters

  • Fewer calls to your team.
  • Customers pay sooner, so less revenue slips away.
  • No mistakes from manual reconnection.

Keep control

Automation should not take away control. In Purple Router you can still pause or suspend subscriptions, see who is expiring soon, and follow up with dormant customers from their own lists.
