Many ISPs run billing in one place and their network in another. The gap between the two is where time and money are lost.
The gap
- A customer pays, but someone still has to reconnect them on the router.
- A router goes down, but billing does not know which customers are affected.
- Plans change in billing, but speeds on routers are updated by hand.
One system closes it
When billing, PPPoE, RADIUS and routers are in one platform, a payment renews the plan and the next login is accepted straight away. You can see which router each customer is on, message only the customers affected by a fault, and swap a router without rebuilding accounts.
The operating system for ISPs
That is the idea behind Purple Router: one platform for payments, network and customers. Features such as a network map, NOC monitoring, a customer portal and TR-069 are coming soon, and they will plug into the same system.
